CLEARING ABSENCES All-Day Absences must be cleared within 3 school days, or they will remain UNEXCUSED and can’t be changed. Email valleverdeattendance@mdusd.org or Call the Valle Verde ABSENCE LINE 925-682-8000 x7505 Leave the following information on the voicemail: ● Student’s name (Always SPELL the last name) ● Teacher ● Reason for Absence (required) ● Date(s) of absence(s) ● Person & relationship making the call (Please SPELL the last name) ● Your BEST daytime phone number More than 12 excused absences due to illness in a school year is considered excess (AR5113); verification by a physician will be required for subsequent absences due to illness or medical appointments. |
VALID EXCUSES FOR ABSENCES (CA EdCode 48205/MDUSD BP/AR 5113) ● Illness or injury of the student ● Medical, dental, orthodontic appointments ● Student attendance at a funeral service for an immediate family member ● Religious Holidays ● Mental Health day ● Approved independent study contracts Unexcused absences: ● Vacations ● Transportation issues ● Sport/Family Events |

PICKING UP YOUR CHILD DURING SCHOOL DAY To pick your child up during the school day, please do the following: ● Email child’s teacher to let them know what me you will be picking up your child ● Come to office to sign child out ● Office staff will call your child’s classroom ● Parent will then go to classroom to pick up child ● If coming back during the same day your child must be signed in through the office upon their return to school |
FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY Please make sure that your phone number(s), email, and emergency contacts are up to date. If your child is ill during the day, the office staff will call you if it is necessary for you to pick your child up. Please note that we do not have the facilities for ill or injured children. We appreciate immediate response for your child’s welfare. |
